The years go by

Posted by Eric on 8/22/2008 1:19:50 AM

Lauren is now 5 and will be starting Kindergarten on Monday. Tomorrow will be her and Mom's last day off for the summer.

They kept busy with trips to the pool, a week at the Outer Banks, a trip to Kennywood, some go-carting, and even the Fayette County Fair.

We are planning a trip to Disneyworld in October so she is starting to get excited for that. It will not be too much longer until Lauren is big enough to update this site herself. Bittersweet it is.

Another Summer Gone

Lauren graduated from Preschool for 4's, performed in her Baby Ballet dance review, did a little go-cart riding, took a trip to Splash Lagoon, and several more to Idlewild.

We sold our house and temporarily to moved to Morgantown, WV while we work on building a new house in Uniontown. That has kept us pretty busy and probably will for quite a while.

4 years

Really? Already?

Yes, 4 years have passed since Lauren was born. She is now her own person and sadly no longer a baby. She had a "birthday weekend" with a bowling party Saturday and a family dinner tonight. She now has everything... even the moon.

In 4 years she has been a strawberry, a lion, Elmo, and a Care Bear. She has been on a trip to the beach, the zoo, Idlewild, Splash Lagoon, Lake Erie, and a cross country flight to Las Vegas and Disneyland. She has a bicycle, a tricycle, and a car, all without payments... Dad wants to be 4 again.

Officially a Soccer Mom

Well it is official....I'm a soccer mom. Lauren began soccer about three weeks ago. She isn't Mia Hamm yet, but we are getting there. I am not certain about all of the rules, but I think being carried down field by the coach isn't typical. Oh well, I guess when you are three and cute you can bend the rules a little. Lauren's 4th birthday is in a week and she is beyond excited. She asked me yesterday if turning 4 meant that she was an adult. Lauren was disappointed to learn that she would still be "a little kid." What a kid!

Viva Las Vegas

November has been a busy month for the Coffman Clan. Lauren loved her very first ride in an airplane....but not nearly as much as the pool at Mandalay Bay. Her father and I did our best to keep her out of the cassinos. Let's face it .....allowances don't stretch nearly as much as they used too. Disney was also a lot of fun. Lauren had a great time there as well. Christmas is now on the horizon and Miss Coffman is asking for a Baby Alive. Hopefully Santa will be good to her.
